Welcome to the Cricket Class. Miss Mickie and I are blessed to be guiding hands in helping prepare your little one for Kindergarten. This is a very important year in your preschooler's life, and the time we spend together helps lay the foundation for their future learning adventures. Each morning, we will come together as a class for our circle time meeting to share, review our calendar, days of the week, and countdown to the 100th day. This is also a time we will learn about our unit, letter, and number of the week and engage in fun group activities, including music and movement activities. Each week, we will have a ‘Star Student’. This is a fun time for each student when it is their turn. Some of the fun things they will do are be the calendar helper, line leader, share about themselves, and help with ‘Letter of the Week’ activities. Our class will have daily center time rotations, which include art, writing, pretend play, listening, quiet reading, sensory, games, puzzles, and more. Our centers last about 15-20 minutes each, allowing each student time to enjoy the activity and also have the opportunity to move to multiple centers throughout the school day. We will have outside playground time and weekly Music and Computer.

Additionally, there will be Chapel time and our Christian education class - “God and Me.” A significant event that we start counting down for on day 1 is our 100th day celebration. It's an exciting day to celebrate this milestone in the year, with fun class activities planned for the day. There will be other fun events and celebrations throughout the changing seasons and holidays to look forward to as well. Every day will be a new and fun learning adventure for everyone!
